Did You Know – 12/13/2017

  1. In 1904 a magazine advertisement, ran by the Cooper Underwear Company, started advertising the T-shirt not as an underwear item, but as a regular piece of clothing. The ad showed a masculine guy wearing the product, which had the following tag line: “no safety pins, no buttons, no needle, no thread”. The purpose of the ad was to show the clothing item in a new light. The company wanted to re-brand the product and to market it as a comfortable piece of clothing that doesn’t require the replacement of any buttons. The T-shirt was, thus, marketed to bachelors, who had no women around to sew back the ripped buttons on their shirts.

3.  A one dog year is not equal to 7 human years. Dogs don’t age parallel to people, they actually age more quickly at first, then slow down. Depending on their size and breed, a 1-year-old dog is about the same as a 15-year-old person a 2-year-old dog is like a 24-year-old person and every year after that is equal to about 4-6 human years

Poem Friday on Thursday – Goodbye 2015

Happy-New-Year-2016-replace-2015-concept-on-the-sea-beach 1,300×839 pixels

Goodbye to the year of Two Thousand and Fifteen
Great for some but also sad times around the world for many it has been.

Closer to home we lost a dear riding mate
So for all Toms friends 2015 will be a marked date

Each day of the year has been a blessing in some way
Cant remember what they were but at least I am alive to say

Thank you my friends for being just who you are
Close to home and many many miles afar.

I treasure your friendship because you have been in my life for many years
Although we don’t always see much of each other, when we do, we talk off our ears

Well for all my readers, family and all my friends however 2015 has been and how it will end
I wish for peace, happiness, health and abundance and all the Love I can send.
I forgot and as much money as you need for the year to spend

All the days and hours and minutes in-between
May many Blessings be with you all in the coming 2016
Goodbye 2015

Take a Look – Nothing to lose

I am not personally in the habit of promoting any money making deals. The reason being 9 times out of 10 I do not know the person promoting the business so am not prepared to take the risk. I am not against anyone making money but of course I don’t like them doing it at my expense. Done it before and had my fingers burnt.

My Husband and I have been making a study of the business below created by a guy called Vick Strizheus. We have been looking into this for almost a year and have come to the conclusion it is the best deal you are going to see for some time.
Vick Strizheus from High Traffic Academy is doing a LIVE class teaching exactly what’s working right now and how you can immediately model this in your business too.

Vick will show you his step-by-step process for creating up to $10,000+ per month income, even if you have no list or never made a dime before!

Look, you have nothing to lose and more to gain by watching this video and its FREE.

1.  Black Friday is the busiest day of the year for plumbers

While Black Friday may be a hectic day for most retailers, it is also the biggest day of the year for America’s plumbers.

Plumbing company Roto-Rooter said for the last seven years, business on Black Friday increases 47 to 50 percent compared to an ordinary Friday. During the four-day Thanksgiving weekend business increases 21 percent over any other Thursday through Sunday period during the year.

2. There is a town called nothing

Camera

Nothing was a small unincorporated settlement in eastern Mohave County, Arizona, United States with four inhabitants…The entire population ran a gas stop and garage. The gas station had a flat -bed truck selling rocks and minerals found nearby as local souvenirs. Behind the gas station, down the embankment, was a small scrap heap.

Nothing was abandoned by May 2005, and by August 2008, the gas station was beginning to collapse. An attempted revival of Nothing occurred at some time after August 2008 when Nothing was purchased by Mike Jensen. By April 2009, Jensen had opened his pizza business, run from a portable oven, with hopes of reopening the mini-mart and creating accommodations for RVs.

Anais and Billy Yeager’s film “Jesus of Malibu” was partially filmed in Nothing, Arizona.

The town sign read: “ Town of Nothing Arizona. Founded 1977. Elevation 3269ft. The staunch citizens of Nothing are full of Hope, Faith, and Believe in the work ethic. Thru-the-years-these dedicated people had faith in Nothing, hoped for Nothing, worked at Nothing, for Nothing.”

3. An Indian Airline is hiring all female flight attendants to save money on fuel.

While some airlines admit to hiring women for their sex appeal, budget carrier GoAir has told the Times of Indian will be hiring predominantly female flight attendants in future because they are 15-20 kilos lighter on average than men.

The airline estimates each extra kilo on board costs Rs3 ($0.05) per flying hour, and the new policy will save it up to $500,000 annually

5.  The Land of the Rising Sun,  for the last four years, being overweight is, technically, illegal. Not frowned upon, but illegal. Concerned about rising rates of both in a graying nation, Japanese lawmakers last year set a maximum waistline size for anyone age 40 and older: 85 centimeters (33.5 inches) for men and 90 centimeters (35.4 inches) for women.
