Plastic Bags Banned in Supermarkets – Plastic Water Bottle solution💦

We are now forced by law in Australia to take our own shopping bags to the supermarket. Pain in the neck as I always forget to take them. If the so-called law makers are so adamant about our environment, how about plastic water bottles. How much time & money are you spending on bottled water a day? a week? a year? …Or even worse, how much will you spend the rest of your life?🤔 People’s health keeps declining but consumption & pollution of plastic bottles keep increasing around the world🌏 and we need to take action before it’s too late! Everything is about perspective and in this video Sebastian Restrepo shares his thoughts on how you can actually save money🤑 by investing in a Kangen Water machine!💧 Since getting my machine, I STOPPED🙅🏻‍♂️supporting these multi-billion dollar companies that only worry about profits and not about your health or the environment! 😤 Are you part of the problem or the solution? If you keep buying water bottles, you are supporting those companies and plastic pollution. Period. We can do better! If not us, Who? If not now, When.

Refund for Splurge Item Before Sale!

Check prices after you buy.
Retailers often will refund the difference if a splurge item you bought goes on sale shortly after your purchase.

Source

In the USA, sure retailers are willing and often will pleasantly do this. Australia and New Zealand Mmmmm not so much. They are not known for their happy faces when you return goods or a comparison price or even faulty goods.
In my opinion that is stupid actually because good service will always bring you back. I am sure you agree.

Donald Trumps Plane and Pilot

This video which is about 45 minutes and is a great look at the workings of keeping Donald’s plane in the air. It shows the high expectation he has of his staff and the respect that he has from his Pilot and all that keep that plane in the air. I believe this is an in depth look at the man and what we can expect from him as President of USA.

Day 15 – 22 Pushups – 22 Days – Awareness of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder)

Day 15 – 22 Pushups – 22 Days – Awareness of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder)

Today Dave took this video in front of the Trump Office in Rosenberg. Yes, this is who I believe will make a great President for this Country of United States Of America. As I say “If you don’t do different nothing will change” and if you vote for Hillary you are voting for more of the same or worse.  You may not like him but I believe he will be the change America needs. Also good for the Veterans. Obama has had 8 years to make a difference for the Vets and it did not happen. Just saying.

_hz

The reason for 22 days and 22 pushups is the recognition and awareness of proven statistical evidence that there are at least 22 veterans commit suicide each day in the United States Of America and a growing number in Australia. There has been 274 suicides in Australia since 1999.

For most of us, we can not comprehend the trauma that they experience and how tolerant and supportive we must be for those who fight for our freedoms. It is not only tragic for our vets it is certainly heartbreaking for the families of these young men and women.
Today I nominate
Jesse Terrell to take the challenge.

No pressure . If you can great, if not that’s ok too.

But once you accept, you start tomorrow. The rules are simple:
* Once you are nominated your 22 days starts the following day.
* Every day you record yourself doing 22 push ups, try your best to reach 22. If that means doing assisted push ups (from your knees) or you have to stop and take a break, that is fine but try to get them all done in one video.
* Every day the push-ups must be in a different location.
* Every day you just nominate a different person.
* And finally have fun with this!
This a great way to have fun and let these courageous Men and Women who put their life on the line and those suffering from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) know that someone is thinking about them.

How to Keep Your Cell Phone App’s From eating your Data

Mobile-Phone-PD

Here in Australia Data costs and arm and a leg, USA not so bad, as there is more competition. If you have a whole family on your plan it probably is costing you a lot more than you would like. I am under contract with Telstra in Australia which is up in October, so will definitely be looking for another provider to see if I can get a better deal.

Because we have such a love affair with data our cell phone plan does not seem to provide anywhere near enough. One minute we have heaps then next minute it’s all gone, well almost.

It’s best to understand how much data your favorite apps use and how to track and adjust that usage. It will help you avoid costly coverage or painfully slow speeds. That depends on your carrier of course.

Most suppliers will charge an extra $15 for an extra gigabyte when you go over your plan, others will bump you down to a 2G speed which you will notice when you are used to 4G.

Where does your Data go:
Streaming music or video will gobble up your data very quickly. Uploading photo’s or large email attachments. A good example of this is streaming 30 minutes of video a day via apps such as Facebook, YouTube or Netflix will use more that 5GB data a month. Streaming an hour of music a day will add up to almost 2GB over 30 days.

Spotify for example has four streaming settings, Google Play has three and YouTube has se en and will adjust your stream based on you connection unless you select a streaming quality.

Spotify
Normal: Uses noun 0.7MB per minute so you can listen to roughly 24 hours of music for 1GB of data
High: Uses around 1.2MB per minute so you can listen to roughly 14 hours of music for 1GB of data
Extreme: Uses around 2.5MB per minute, so you can listen to roughly 7 hours of music or 1GB of data.

Google Play

You can stream about 7 hours of music per gigabyte at the highest quality setting. Normal and low quality settings are also available.

Pandora

Uses about 0.5MB per minute at most, so you can listen to almost 35 hours of music for GB.

YouTube

Data usage varies widely on YouTube based on the video quality which ranges from 240p to 1080p and can be adjusted manually for each video. According to Verizon customers in NY City Metro used an average 24MB per minute while on You Tube in February this year. At that rate you would burn through 1.5GB in an hour.

Netflix

You will use about 1GB per our if streaming in standard definition and as much as 3GB per hour if streaming in HD.

Facebook and Instagram

Roughly 2MB per minute with video autoplay turned off. It would take more than 8 hours to burn through 1GB of data. But watching videos or uploading photos or videos will use more. Check your phone to see how much you have used of data.

To see how much some of you apps are using go to ‘Settings’ on an Android and then Data usage. That information on an iPhone is in ‘Settings under Cellular’.

How to keep your data in check

Adjusting your settings is one way to reduce your data usage without really changing how you use your phone.
This needs to be done in each app. Focus on the ones you use the most.
Your music and video apps change your streaming quality to a lower level. This option is usually found in the apps settings menu. Check the settings on your social media apps, many of which also play videos.

On Facebook videos in your feed automatically play as you scroll, this can eat up a lot of Data. Change the setting to never automatically play videos. To do this go to ‘App settings’ while in your Facebook app and click on Autoplay then select never autoplay video’s. You can also select to play automatically when connected to WiFi.

Of course the best way to minimize data usage is to be connected to WiFi. When on WiFi you stop using Cellular Data. That means you can stream and upload to your heart’s content.

If you listen to Spotify on your commute, download you playlist while you are at home connected to WiFi then you can listen offline mode and save your data.

The power of Information: Look for the data breakdown on your phone setting. Once you realize where your data is going you can make adjustments.
If you have made adjustments and still using a lot of data go have a chat to your provider. The guys in the store know these phone operations inside out so go to them for help.

You should look at an unlimited plan which is offered by some provider companies. Some companies have unlimited music streaming built into some of its plans.

So there you have it. Hope this information has been helpful.

Poem Friday – Life Is Good I am Blessed, the Best it Can Be

Life is Good Its the best It can Be
Author: Lesley Voth

I have to say in a grateful way
In the past two weeks or more I have had a wonderful stay

IMG_2985

First of all at the beginning of march was my sons wedding
A few days later off to USA, Actually to Houston Texas they were heading

From all accounts they had a great time felt so much at ease
Thank you Dave and my friends for giving them some lifetime memories

For me well I headed off To Queanbeyan, near Canberra on my bike
A good 8 1/2 hours ride so it was quite the hike

IMG_1848
Franny’s Birthday I had to be there
To miss that I would not dare

IMG_1845

Plenty of Bollinger, yep we drank most of the night
Had to celebrate the girls party with the best right?

After the party a couple of days later
Headed off to Bermagui with the Pugs, what could be greater

Well ‘Sugar’ not into this travel thing as she griped most of the way
The two boys Ziggie and Gus for them asleep in the back, was such a relaxing day

IMG_1975

Three lovable pugs so cute they are the best
They ran themselves ragged, once they got home they had to rest

Donna and I we swam each day and to the beach we walked
Great time together also ate, drank, slept and talked

Caught a few fish which we cooked on the BBQ
It was so enjoyable but time flew

Franny arrived a couple of days before the end
We did a few chores around the place, productive time we did spend

Well back to Canberra we all took off Sunday
Monday packed my bike, headed off Tuesday sad but the end of my stay

Another 8 1/2 ride and so really pleasant warm and still
The temperatures fantastic, Had to watch out for Roos and wombats, a lot of road kill

I am so pleased I came back on that day
Cause the temperatures fell like big time would have been uncomfortable in a big way

There is nothing worse like riding in the freezing cold
But riding in warm weather is a feeling to great to behold

Well here I am back in Queenscliffe, what a great place
A little chilly, good coffee and for a couple of weeks this is my base

IMG_2020

Yep March was a busy time for me
But I had a great time from the Pictures you see

Life is good I am blessed, the best it can be
