Poem Friday on Saturday – Love at First Sight

 Love at First Sight

We actually went looking for a cat

Came home with this ball of fluff, how about that

My Mum was in need of a furry mate

Cat or dog that was the debate

Off to the pet shop we all went

Next to the cat cage was this puppy so heaven-sent

The decision was then made

Home she came with us once we paid

Charlie was the name we decided

Probably not the best name provided

As Mum always called her a he

Even though Charlie was a she

Anyway Charlie gave my Mum so much pleasure

So smart, so lovable, a heart stealing treasure

There was not a soul who did not fall in love with that dog I believe

So special to my Mum, a lot of love Charlie did receive

But Alas Charlie is not with us any more

An accident ended Charlies life, Charlie who we love and adore

These things happen and  it causes great pain

But time they say does heal and the hurt does wane

We will miss her that is for sure

A love of a pet is so unconditional, so pure

That ball of fluff so beautiful, was so bright

Loved her to bits, for me,  It was Love at First Sight

Treasure That Memory – Or Whats Left Of it

Three sisters age 92, 94 and 96 live in a house together.
One night the 96 year old draws a bath, puts her foot in and pauses.
She yells down the stairs, “Was I getting in or out of the bath?”
The 94 year old yells back, “I don’t know, I’ll come up and see.”
She starts up the stairs and pauses, then she yells,
“Was I going up the stairs or coming down?”
The 92 year old was sitting at the kitchen table having tea
listening to her sisters. She shakes her head and says,
“I sure hope I never get that forgetful.” She knocks
on wood for good measure. She then yells,
“I’ll come up and help both of you as soon as I see
who’s at the door.”

One Mans Trash is Another Mans Treasure

If you are having a clean up around the house, and have a lot of kiddies toys and clothes and books there are many places that would really appreciate them, and put them to good use. Here is a suggestion of 9 places that your kiddies castoffs can go to.

These places will be happy to recieve your castoffs.

1. Day Care Centers.

2. Kindergartens,

3. Private and publice elementary schools.

4. Boy Scouts of America

5. Girl Scouts of America.

6. Head Start.

7. Churches that have Sunday schools.

8. Churches that have vacation and bible schools

9. Boys and Girls Clubs of America.

Redcross, Salvation Army, Life Line are just some of the ones I like to give my castoff to. The old saying is “One mans trash is another mans Treasure”
