Your Life Is And Was What It Is And Was – Don’t Make It A Regret

OhNo

I watched a video on Facebook the other day
It got me thinking and found it annoying in a way

It was a young man expounding about having no regrets, do the things you desire
Get all those regrets out of the way before you expire

My thoughts on this is while you are expiring – regrets are the last on your mind
Is it about not saying sorry or jumping from a plane, or that invitation you should not have declined

If you did not go surfing or play that guitar, or anything I did not mention
Apologize to someone, irrational and unforgiving you can be sure you had no intention

Nothing will change because you could have taken the opportunity but you did not
So I do not believe in regrets, its of no use, it just gets you stressed and for what?

Would it help? I don’t think so,  if you are honest you were never going too  I bet
Your life is and was – what it is and was, If you have not achieved something don’t make it a regret

Best Buy Wednesday – LED Winter Beanie (11/25/2015)

screen-shot-2015-11-24-at-1-15-29-pm
I saw this on Facebook and thought it would make a fantastic gift. It’s not expensive but a useful one.  I am going to get one for my Grandson who loves the outdoors. I can see this so handy for night time fishing, camping and early morning surfing when it is a little dark. In fact, it would be handy to keep in your vehicle in case of a breakdown and you do not have a flashlight. I am thinking I need to carry one on my motorcycle in case of a night time breakdown.

It is only $13 dollars as it is on a special deal. Great Christmas gift and a practical gift.

Poem Friday – 01/23/2015 – Start 2015 Just Right

I love the mornings, best time of the day
With a view like this it starts in a good way

IMG_0533IMG_0572

At this time I was in NZ to see my Mum
And of course ‘Charlie’ her dog love her she is such fun

Her face is so cute, of course communicates in dog talk
Especially when you are about to take her for a walk

Christmas day is a great family tradition
Mutton on spit, motor broke down, turning by hand was the decision

Many a beer had to be drunk while it cooked away
Probably what gave it that great flavor I would say

IMG_0914

Went to Mt Ruapahu a four hour trip to see friends
Snow on the mountain, a view from my bed, the beauty never ends

IMG_0974

And no that is not cloud coming from Tongariro Mountain
Its volcanic activity, spewing smoke and at times a hot lava fountain

IMG_0983

About to leave NZ and go to Australia I call home
Take charlie for his last walk with me, no lead I just let him roam

IMG_0555

Now back in Australia where the morning is a beach
I know, a long way from Houston that I miss, I wish my arms could reach

It is such a great pleasure to watch my grandson and son
At the beach together surfing the waves while I go for a run.

Just to end I was lying on the beach sunbaking looking up at the sky
With my new camera I took this picture of the moon, It just looked beautiful that is why

IMG_1012

Ate too much at xmas so need to exercise to get fit
Boxing this morning tomorrow these steps, no time to sit

But at the top is a beautiful sight
Makes you feel good and start 2015 just right

Meatloaf In A Muffin Pan – Brilliant!

This is brilliant. Great way to make an impressive dinner  presentation. I find when I make a meatloaf , if I don’t get the ingredients right [which is often as I never follow a recipe]  it kinda crumbles a little, so when I saw this I thought what a perfect way to present meatloaf and maybe decorate it with mashed potatoes, peas, asparagus or what ever takes your fancy.

I have also suggested to my grandson that in the weekend he makes some up and put them in the freezer so that when he comes back hungry from school or surfing he can Zap them up in the microwave or oven and have a healthy protein snack.

Ingredients

1 2/3 to 1 3/4 pounds ground sirloin
1 medium onion, cut into chunks
2 ribs celery from the heart of the stalk, cut into 2-inch pieces
1 green bell pepper
1 large egg plus a splash of milk, beaten
1 cup plain bread crumbs
2 tablespoons grill seasoning (recommended: Montreal Steak Seasoning by McCormick)
1 cup smoky barbecue sauce
1/2 cup tomato salsa
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Vegetable oil or extra-virgin olive oil

Directions

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.

Put ground beef into a big bowl. Put onion and celery into a food processor. Cut the bell pepper in half, rip out the seeds and throw them into your garbage bowl. Cut the pepper into a few pieces and add to the food processor. Pulse the processor blades to finely chop the vegetables into very small pieces then add them to the meat bowl. Add egg, beaten with milk, bread crumbs and grill seasoning to the bowl. Next, mix together the smoky barbecue sauce, the salsa and the Worcestershire sauce. Pour half the sauce mixture into the bowl with the meatloaf mix. Mix the meatloaf together with your hands. Wash up. Brush a 12-muffin tin (1/2-cup each) with vegetable oil or extra-virgin olive oil. Use an ice cream scoop to help you fill meat into a each tin. Top each meat loaf with a spoonful of extra sauce. Bake about 20 minutes. Cut open 1 muffin to test that the middle is cooked through
