Think twice Before Being Rude to Telemarketers

You know I had to think about this, as for so long it has been the habit to be rude to a telemarketer and not thinking of them as humans I suppose.  Some one with feelings or that they have a life that this job keeps the wolf from the door. I have never been abusive but I have been rude and hung up on them not considering how they feel.

The main occupational hazard of this job is,  as you can imagine Stress. “Repetitive and intensive work, targets and tight supervision, and monitoring” are key reasons for this.

“Call scripting, excessive workloads, unfair pressure to minimise wrap times and the effect of abusive and difficult customers” also cause “emotional exhaustion”.

The alternative to this is say sorry not interested and end it with “Enjoy the rest of your shift or “have a nice day. “

“If you don’t want to buy anything, make this very clear at the start and ask to be taken off the records. That way the worker will not think there is a chance of sale.

“Be firm [but] say something nice at the end.”

I know this will be difficult for some,  actually many, but think about it would you like your son or daughter be continually every day spoken to like this. Because remember some of those employees are often desperate for work and it is a way of making a living they don’t have many choices.

Remember Be firm but polite. If there is a problem just ask for the supervisor.

Urgent Prayer For Our President

Look, love him or hate him you have to admit that the assaults on  President Trump are mean and vicious. I believe the American people to be better than this. This viciousness is separating families, our ability to be reasonable and to recognize success and how this great country of USA has benefited from many changes that have been made. More Jobs, less tax for most and more money in the pockets of many Americans. This whole vindictiveness is ridiculous. I does not matter wether you are left or right and I am sure there will be many of you that will scorn what I have to say. I don’t care. I hate this mean spiritness of the people, not considering how destructive it is on the Presidents young son and his wife and the rest of his family. It is sick. If you let this hatred continue everyone will suffer in the end.

It needs to stop.

Prayers for the President and the USA is needed. I believe this man has got it right.

2.  A giant Celtic cross design, only visible from the sky, has been discovered growing in an Irish forest. The 100-meter (330ft) long religious symbol remained undetected for years until airline passengers noticed it while flying overhead.

The cross in Killea forest in county Donegal caused much confusion until an investigation by UTV revealed it wasn’t aliens bored with crop circles but was instead planned by Liam Emmery, a very creative and talented forester.

Meticulously planting hundreds of trees over a period of years Emmery was able to plan out the design which would reveal itself every autumn to those flying overhead.

Unfortunately Emmery passed away in 2010 aged 51, before his creation became known to the public. His wife had forgotten about his elaborate plan until UTV approached her about it, telling them “I’d forgotten about the plantation, if he was here, we would have all heard about it because he would have been so proud.”

3. There is a “Hangover Bar” in Amsterdam .
It’s the first of its kind in the world – a mecca for anyone who partied a little too hard the night before.
Only open from Friday to Sunday, The Hangover Bar has everything a boozer needs to get back on track.
There’s no cheating your way in for a free bed either – there are ‘hangover inspectors’ guarding the doors.
They breathalyze  you on entry to make sure you still have alcohol in your system – the very opposite of a sobriety test.
Once inside, a green oasis awaits, ready to meet all your hangover needs.
There are beds laid out with accompanying televisions to play your favourite TV shows.
Green turf and towering pot plants weave their way around them, and there’s an oxygen bar to speed up the recovery process.
Foodora has created a special food menu featuring vitamin-boosting smoothies.

5.  Difficulty with eye contact may be a sign of a good conversationalist. A pair of researchers from Kyoto University studied this.  “The dual task of maintaining eye contact (and the inherent intimate connection it involves) while also racking the brain for a word to meet the request is just too demanding – to save itself, the brain pushes for breaking eye contact so it can focus exclusively on finding a word that will fulfill the obligation.”

Essentially, breaking eye contact allows us to better choose our words. Looking someone in the eye may help us better establish an emotional rapport, but looking elsewhere may actually stimulate better conversation.

1. Four cups of coffee a day could lower your chances of getting the deadly melanoma by 20% according to new research published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute. The Caffeine and polyphenols are credited with the suppression of UV-induced tumor growth. Note to all my friends that have decaf – It does not offer the same benefits.

2. Researchers asked people detailed questions about a film they had just seen. Those who were instructed to shut their eyes when questioned  correctly answered 23%  more than those who kept their lids open.

The interesting part is that closing your eyes lowers your brains cognitive load by blocking out distractions. That helps you focus on the task of remembering.

3. Dry mouth can be a tooth-ache pain culprit – The saliva in your mouth helps neutralize acids in the mouth that can erode enamel and can lead to the dreaded toothache. Solution seems to be the old saying ‘Drink plenty of water’. I am sure you have heard that one over and over again.

4. Kill that bacteria that is the cause of swimmers ear.

My son and grandson have had this problem for years because they are water animals and love surfing and are in the pool all summer so I know this is a painful problem. Now we have the solution.

Vinegar acidifies the external auditory canal, killing the bacteria that causes the problem.

Dilute white vinegar with an equal amount of distilled water and using an eye dropper put 3 drops in the affected ear 3 times daily .

Use, instead of ‘Over the counter’ products that dry out the ear canal. Get someone to put the drops in your ear so you don’t miss.
