The Danger of Rare Gene which Causes Resistance To Bacteria

 

Just read this article from the website of Dr Mercola who is  well-respected in the field of medicine. It is well worth the read and I believe everyone should be aware of the dangers of these resistant drugs.

I Will give you an outline of what it is about.

It has been suggested that deaths from antibiotic-resistant disease will reach 10 million per year. Drivers of this disease is antibiotics in agriculture, Hospitals, CRE- (carbapenem-resistant enterobacteriaceae) which produces an enzyme that breaks down antibiotics

Strategies to protect yourself and help prevent the spread of are:-

  1. Infection prevention, with a focus on strengthening your immune system naturally. Avoiding sugars, processed foods and grains, stress reduction, and optimizing your sleep and vitamin D level are foundational for this. Adding in traditionally fermented and cultured foods is also important, as this will help optimize your microbiome.

The Nitric Oxide Dump exercise (below) will also help improve your immune status. Contrary to supplements that boost immune function, which should be taken only as needed, the Nitric Oxide Dump exercise is a preventive method that should ideally be done daily.

2. Limiting your use of antibiotics. Any time your doctor prescribes an antibiotic, ask if it’s absolutely necessary, and keep in mind that antibiotics do not work for viral infections. For example, antibiotics are typically unnecessary for most ear infections, and they do not work on the common cold or flu, both of which are caused by viruses.

3. Avoiding antibiotics in food by purchasing organic or biodynamic grass-fed meats and animal products.

4. Avoiding antibacterial household products such as antibacterial soaps, hand sanitizers and wipes, as these promote antibiotic resistance by allowing the strongest bacteria to survive and thrive in your home.

5. Properly washing your hands with warm water and plain soap, to prevent the spread of bacteria. Be particularly mindful of washing your hands and kitchen surfaces after handling raw meats, as about half of all meat sold in American grocery stores is likely to be contaminated with pathogenic bacteria. Avoid antibiotic soaps that typically have dangerous chemicals like triclosan.

6. Common-sense precautions in the kitchen: Kitchens are notorious breeding grounds for disease-causing bacteria, courtesy of contaminated meat products, including antibiotic-resistant strains of E-coli. To avoid cross-contamination between foods in your kitchen, adhere to the following recommendations:

  • Use a designated cutting board, preferably wood, not plastic, for raw meat and poultry, and never use this board for other food preparation, such as cutting up vegetables. Color coding your cutting boards is a simple way to distinguish between them
  • To sanitize your cutting board, use hot water and detergent. Simply wiping it off with a rag will not destroy the bacteria
  • For an inexpensive, safe and effective kitchen counter and cutting board sanitizer, use 3 percent hydrogen peroxide and vinegar. Keep each liquid in a separate spray bottle, and then spray the surface with one, followed by the other, and wipe off
  • Coconut oil can also be used to clean, treat and sanitize your wooden cutting boards. It’s loaded with lauric acid that has potent antimicrobial actions. The fats will also help condition the wood

Achieve and Alkaline Body and be Healthy💦

 

To achieve an alkaline body which I may add is essential to good health you must have and alkaline lifestyle.

Green vegetables: kale, chard, beet greens, dandelion, spinach, wheat grass, alfalfa grass.

Non starchy vegetables – mushrooms, tomatoes, avocado, radishes, cucumber,  broccoli, oregano, garlic, ginger, green beans, endive, cabbage, celery, zucchini and asparagus.

Raw Foods – life-giving foods – organic fruit and vegetables

Superfoods – maca root, spirulina, sea veggies, bone broth and green powder mixes that contain chlorophyll.

Healthy fats – coconut oil, MCT oil or virgin olive oil (fats found in wild-caught fish, grass-fed beef, cage-free eggs, nuts, seeds and organic grass-fed butter

Starchy plants – sweet potato, turnips and beets.

Plant proteins – almonds, navy beans, lima beans and most other beans

Drink Alkaline water; – Now you know this is my favorite subject and write about it all the time. Now Dr Axe also is writing about the subject of alkaline water that is so necessary to optimal health like the food we eat :-

“According to the Water Research Center’s website, “The normal range for pH in surface water systems is 6.5 to 8.5 and for groundwater systems is 6 to 8.5.”  This means that there is a lot of variation when it comes to pH levels between different sources of water. When water has a pH level less than 6.5, it is considered “acidic, soft, and corrosive,” which means it may potentially leach metal ions such as iron, manganese, copper, lead, and zinc from aquifers, plumbing fixtures, and piping, plus contain certain toxic metals and have a sour taste. The best way to treat the problem of acidic (low pH) water is to use a neutralizer that raises the pH.

Evidence suggests that the ideal pH level of alkaline ionized water for long-term human consumption is between 8.5 and 9.5.  Alkaline water is just what it sounds like: water that is highly acidic, with a pH of between 9.5 to 11. Adding pH drops, lemon or lime, or baking soda to your water also boosts alkalinity. Distilled water is neutral, with a pH of 7.

Water filtered using a reverse osmosis filter is slightly acidic, with a pH level slightly lower than 7. Distilled water and filtered water may not be too alkaline, but as far as pH balance is concerned they are still a better option than tap water or purified bottled water that are more acidic.”

Drinking Plastic – Not so Good💦

 

On the 22 March I Wrote to you about the micro plastics in the drinking water of plastic bottled water. No it seems it is not just me that is giving you the warning. The Today Show also did a show on questioning the health of bottled water. The Video below is giving you the full story.

Please consider what has been said especially if you have young children and believe you are giving them healthy water from a healthy bottle. Many of the bottles you use even the supposedly reusable bottles contain Bisphenol A

Coffee Doesn’t Actually Count Toward Your Daily Water Intake

 

My husband is of the belief that his cups of coffee per day also count as his eight cup requirement for the day but I beg to differ and this article confirms it. You still need to consume 8 – 10 glasses of water per day for proper hydration. Coffee of course has other benefits so drink up that aromatic kick ass pleasurable moment.

 

According to Courtney Schuchmann, MS, RD, LDN,” coffee may actually have a dehydrating effect on our bodies if we don’t consume enough water in addition to it. Schuchmann does not recommend cutting coffee out of our daily routine since it has many possible health benefits such as “reduced risk of colorectal cancer, improved bowel movements, and improved liver regeneration for those with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NASH).” She suggests we continue with our daily coffee consumption “since studies have found that individuals who drink more coffee per day typically have lower incidence of the above mentioned diseases,” but to ensure that if our goal is to drink eight to 10 cups of water a day, that our coffee intake is in addition to that.”

 Coffee may actually be hydrating, according to Dr. Luiza Petre, a board-certified cardiologist. “It seems hydration is not offset by the diuretic effect of coffee. Our body quickly compensates for the caffeine, so coffee has an overall hydrating effect.” However, she does not recommend making coffee our only source of hydration and adds that that we should consume no more than three to four cups (and no more than 400 mg of caffeine) a day.
If we’re pouring in sugary additives or full-fat milk, our coffee may not be as healthy or hydrating. The best way to drink your coffee is black, and if that’s too much to handle, try adding some cinnamon or a touch of honey for added sweetness.
 
 
So the end story is you still need to drink 8 – 10 glasses of water as well as your coffee and of course I recommend Kangen Water especially for  that  extra boost to the taste.  You will notice the difference between tap water and Kangen water.

Microplastics found in 93% of bottled water tested.💦

This is from an email sent to me from Emma Deangela, Best-Selling Author, and Nutritionist

Emma is a great advocate for maintaining an alkaline body for prevention of deterioration of our health.

Microplastics found in 93% of bottled water tested.

In the study mentioned, they tested 259 bottles of water from 11 brands in the United States, Thailand, Mexico, India, Brazil, Indonesia, China, Kenya, and Lebanon – the major brands include Aqua, Aquafina, Dasani, Evian, Nestle Pure Life and San Pellegrino.

The research team found out that 93 percent of all bottles tested contained some sort of microplastic, including polypropylene, polystyrene, nylon, and polyethylene terephthalate.

The shocking part of the study shows that on average, there were 10.4 particles of plastic per litre that were 100 microns (0.10 mm) or bigger.

While smaller particles were also discovered, 314 of them per litre, on average!

Of course, it differs from bottle to bottle: while some contained one, others contained thousands.

How true is the study?

Well, two brands, Nestle and Gerolsteiner, confirmed their internal testing showing their bottled water indeed contained microplastics, even though their internal tests showed much lower levels than that of the study.

I’m not sure how you feel after reading this...

Many research has also established that these plastics can pass through the lining of your gut, and may end up residing within an immune cell in your gut.

And because plastic is not degradable, they could inflict irreversible damage to our digestive system and internal organs.

Leading to diseases like ADHD, autism, a lower sperm count and even certain forms of cancer.

What I would suggest is

1) Avoid bottled water as much as possible.

2) Use a refillable bottle instead.
It’s much safer than the bottled water and it’s environmentally friendly too.

Of course, I would add to this,  suggesting you get our Kangen Water machine and then you can be sure you have healthy ionized, 9.5 PH drinking water. Let Me Tell You My Story💦

 

In the last 10 years, my cholesterol has been on the high side, but my triglycerides were normal so I never really worried about it. I read a lot of articles on the cholesterol count, and it seems that research has made the assumption that Statins were not the answer. As long as your triglycerides were okay then the chances are you were going to be okay from your arteries clogging up. Because I exercise 5-6 days a week and believe I eat rather healthy, have the odd 2 or three glasses of wine of red wine per day and the odd cigar or two, and ride a motorbike the chances are I would live to a ripe old age.

Anyhow to cut a long story short for the last 6 months I have been drinking <a href=”http://www.lifechanging-water.com”>Kangen water</a>. I have religiously drunk at least 8 large (16 ounce/500 ml) glasses of the water per day. Basically, it is the only lifestyle habit I changed.

Yesterday I had to go to the doctor to get the results of my blood test that I got a week before. To my surprise and my doctor’s too, my cholesterol levels had come right down. My triglycerides were.09, normal is 2 (Australian numbers not the USA). My kidney function had shown deterioration for the last 4 years and the result yesterday was a normal reading. I was elated as I expected him to give me the normal, not so good result and tell me I had to go on a statin and go see a specialist about my kidneys.
