  1. It does not matter what size the eyes happen to be on humans and animals alikee, longest eye lashes length are always 1/3 the width of the eyes. Apparently they are just the right length to minimize air flow over the eye-ball so it does not dry out and helps keep out the dust. Source

2. How to tell if the eggs you are about to purchase are fresh.

The number next to the expiration date, say for example 268.This is the number of days in the year (25th September) when those eggs were placed in the carton. The sell by date is say 14th November. Those eggs have been in that carton for 45 days by that date. Not so fresh in my opinion.

The example above – 211 days is July 30 so by the sell by date those eggs will have been in the carton just under a month.

3. Richard Nixon once smuggled a suitcase full of weed through the airport for Louis Armstrong.

According to Snopes .

Supposedly true Louis Armstrong was flying back from Europe, and on the same plane was
then-Congressman Richard Nixon. Nixon was apparently a fan of Louis and
they chatted throughout the flight.

When they arrived in New York, Louis said to Nixon, listen I’m an old man
and I’ve got all this stuff to carry, why don’t you carry my trumpet for
me and help me out?

And that is the story of how Richard Nixon carried Louis Armstrong’s stash
of weed through customs at the New York airport

5.  Earth used to be covered with giant mushrooms that were 24 feet tall and three feet wide, instead of trees.

From around 420 to 350 million years ago, when land plants were still the relatively new kids on the evolutionary block and “the tallest trees stood just a few feet high,” giant spires of life poked from the Earth. “The ancient organism boasted trunks up to 24 feet (8 meters) high and as wide as three feet (one meter),” said National Geographic in 2007.  With the help of a fossil dug up in Saudi Arabia scientists finally figured out what the giant creature was: a fungus. (We think.)

The towering fungus spires would have stood out against a landscape scarce of such giants, said New Scientist in 2007.

5. There is a rare type of blood that is shared by only 43 people in the entire world. ‘Rhnull’ blood does not contain any of the Rh antigens that 99.9% of humans have. It is often called ‘Golden Blood’ because it can be given to anyone who has a rare Rh blood type, but there are only 9 active donors, so it is only used in extreme circumstances.

1. Anybody that takes Vitamin C should avoid the following Soft drinks: Sunkist, Fanta, Diet Coke, Sprite, & Pepsi Max.
These drinks contain Sodium Benzoate 211 on the label. A chemical reaction between Vitamin C and Sodium Benzoate creates Benzine a highly carcinogenic chemical.
Benzine has the ability to severely damage the DNA in the Mitochondria to the point that it totally inactivates it, knocks it out altogether. The Mitochondria consumes Oxygen to give you energy, and if you damage it, then the cell starts to malfunction very seriously, often fatally, a whole array of Diseases has been tied to the damage to the DNA, including Parkinson’s Disease and quite a lot of neurodegenerative Diseases. For more on this story go to the source below.

2. Dogs can remember things that happen when they were not paying attention. New evidence suggests that like humans, dogs have episodic memory which lets you remember specific events from your life by absorbing them as they occur, even when they don’t seem relevant. This trait is linked to self-awareness, and scientists used to think it only evolved in primates.

“Dogs probably pay more attention to us than we think and observe us more than we think,”  explained by the lead author Claudia Fugazza, an ethnologist at the University of Eotvos Lorand in Budapest.

Your brain is wired to respond to music, even when you are not really listening to it. A recent study showed that even when highly focused and distracted by another task, Peoples pupils dilated in reaction to patterns of strong and weak beat omissions, suggesting we have an inherent sense for expectation of rhythm.

  1. Flowers for Stress busting – A study showed that people who sat near a bouquet of colorful flowers during a typing assignment than those that sat next to a just green foliage plant. It proved that colorful flowers have a powerful influence on moods, love, and combat stress.” I love flowers and have them in the house all the time ” me just sayin.

2. Hug the ground – This I found interesting – There are reasons why gravity keeps humans close to the ground. The higher you are from the surface the earth the less connected you are to the planet’s electromagnetic field (EMF). Our bodies myriad functions are regulated b our own EMF, which pulses to that of the earth. When the EMF synchronization is disrupted, disease can result. When you fly in a plane at 30,000 feet you are bombarded with a level of cosmic radiation similar to one’s radiation exposure in a chest x-ray. So if possible work or live no higher than 4 stories up and (this for some is impossible) use air travel only when absolutely necessary. Also I have read it is why walking on the ground with bare feet when possible is very healthy for you.

3. Activities in our lives can be categorized as Yin or Yang. Sleeping, relaxing, reading and bathing are yin activities. Exercising on the other hand together with cooking, engaging in hobbies and study are yang. So therefore your bedroom and bathroom are more appropriately located in the northern and western parts of your home. Your office, kitchen, living room and dining room should be in the southern and eastern locations.

phosphatidylserine

4. phosphatidylserine (PS) –  is a well documented nutrient used in Europe to reverse age related dementia and memory loss. It is made naturally by the body. It is known to boost various neurotransmitters in the brain that activate reasoning, concentration and memory. It also allows ones ability to withstand harmful effects of stress.

The average daily phosphatidylserine (PS) intake from diet in Western countries is estimated to be 130 mg.  PS may be found in meat and fish. Only small amounts of PS can be found in dairy products or in vegetables, with the exception of white beans and soy lecithin.

If your Shampoo has the words “Organic” on the label chances are it means nothing. There is no formal definition for that word within the cometic industry like there is in the Food industry. Food companies using U.S. certified organic labels must prove their products are at least 95% organic.

Some products may include a few organic ingredients along with several chemical ones — and still claim to be natural or organic on the label.

Friends – The Happy Threesome

This is Leo the African Lion, Baloo the Black Bear, and Shere Khan the Bengal Tiger.

The threesome were rescued as babies from the basement of an Atlanta drug dealer’s home when it was raided by authorities.
image001

They were starving, traumatized and had bacterial infections.
image002
Since then, they were brought to Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary
image003
… where they’ve lived in the same habitat together for 13 years.
image004
The only time the three were separated was when Baloo was sent to surgery.
[While at the drug dealer’s home, Baloo had been mistreated so profoundly that the harness that was put on him had grown into his skin.]
image005
The two cats were distraught and cried for the bear’s return when he was at the vet’s.

Since then no one has separated the group.
image006
They clearly bonded during their earliest memories and never wanted to be apart.
image007
Now they live together as if they were brothers of the same species.
image008
They play together, nuzzle one another and are extremely affectionate.
image009
The threesome are the only lion, tiger and bear living together in the world.
image010
They’re just that exceptional.
image011
Humans could really learn from the bond that these three have.
image014
No one ever told them they couldn’t love one another, so they did just that.
image012
And now, even all these years later, they continue to do so.
image013
The trio are affectionately referred to as BLT, standing for bear, lion, and tiger.

They might just be the most adorable sandwich ever!

The New Predators – The Silent Call

That silence at the end of the line

A-black-phone-and-handset-008

The phone rings, you pick it up and say “Hello”  and no one is on the other line.

This is a new type of robo-Call – an automated computer system making tens of thousands of calls to “build a list of humans  target for theft”.

According to the Financial Fraud research center it is the first step in opening you up to many of the phone-based scams.

Vijay Balasubramaniyan, CEO of Pindrop Security, a company in Atlanta that detects phone fraud, says that in any number of ways, the criminal ring gets your 10 digits and loads them into an automated system.

According to the Federal Trade Commission, these robocalls are on the rise because Internet-powered phones make it cheap and easy for scammers to make illegal calls from anywhere in the world.

The next step is gathering information about your bank or credit card account. You get a call with a prerecorded voice that tells you, for example, “[we’re] calling with an important message about your debit card. If you are the cardholder please stay on the line and press 1. Otherwise please have the cardholder call us at 1-877…”

If you’re thinking about ignoring it, the message tries to scare you into paying attention with a warning: “A temporary hold may have been placed on your account and will be removed upon verification of activity.”

That number leads to another automated system that prompts you to share personal details like your date of birth, your card number and secure PIN, the expiration date, your Social Security number.

It can be tricky because many real banks have a similar system. And, Balasubramaniyan says, fear does kick in. He recalls a big scam in 2014 in which criminals pretended to be the IRS calling to collect back taxes. (The agency says the scam is still going on.) If you wanted to call back or have time to talk to your spouse before paying over the phone, the fraudster wouldn’t let you go.

Solution – If you have not already done so, ask your phone company top put caller ID on your landline. Then simply screen your calls and don’t pick up if the number is unfamiliar.

Do not  engage in any way with robocallers a lot of times when you get a robocall you have the option of pressing 1 for more information or pressing 2 to ask to be removed from the list. And in either case, pressing 1 or 2 basically lets the robocaller know that it’s a live person on the other line who’s willing to engage and that could lead to additional robocalls.
