Snowden – Hero or Traitor

rhpvc-dh

Just thought I would mention this movie on Edward Snowden (who was an employee of the NSA) that I went and saw on the weekend. Hero or Traitor? In my opinion he was a Hero. I want my Grandchildren to know who they are up against in their future.

I remember years ago when I was about 25 yrs old I used to get these conspiracy letters from some fellow (can’t remember his name now) that lived in Western Australia.
Most of it I found disturbing, only to find as the years went by, all that he predicted came to fruition.
Example was smart cards, credit cards and ID cards that let big brother know your every move every day. Machines would photograph you evey-time you made a withdrawal or deposit. What you buy, where you buy, when you buy, what time you buy where you buy fuel what fuel station where you are traveling. That eventually your computers will be spying on you. You will have a number attached to your body and soul.
I ended up cancelling my subscription to this news letter as I found it far too depressing.
I personally had no idea that all that he wrote was either happening or eventually did happen.

You could say, “well I have nothing to hide it does not bother me” but after you see this movie I think that you may consider covering up the camera lens on your computer especially if you have it in the bedroom or hotel room.
Also know that your mobile phone is a tracking device for everyone in your family.

Oliver Stone directed this movie.Oliver Stone has also made many great movies like ‘Platoon’, ‘Born on the Fourth of July’,’Wall Street’ and many others.
The surveillance by the NSA that Snowden uncovered, was and is illegal. I believe him to be a very gutsy millennial who in my opinion was brilliant and thrust into a world that was bewildering, stressful and fearful for him to comprehend and not expose.

Look I believe everyone should go see this movie. It is compelling and parts of it will shock you into taking better care of your privacy.

If you can’t get to the movies then as soon as it comes out on video you need to get it.

Poem Friday – From 100 To Zero

From 100 To Zero

Author: Lesley Voth

Well here I am ‘ Back in the USA’
Sounds like a Springsteen Song I have to say

I left Australia just last week, very warm and sunny
If my friends could see me now they would think it rather funny

I had a tan that I worked very hard to get
Only to be wrapped up in winter woollies, body not seen the sun yet

DSC_0139

Woke up yesterday to icicles on the trees
No sign of spring flowers that are usually covered in bees

But I am grateful as the house is nice and warm
Cold outside, at least now sunny no sign of a storm

I believe, I am told that spring is near, that’s Mother Natures plan
Summer around the corner, will be back at the pool, working hard on that tan

As you can see from the pictures, my Son and Grandson
Loving the warmth, the ocean in Australia and having such fun

I am not really complaining as I love this country and I am with my husband, my hero
Even though I have gone from temperatures of 100 degrees to Zero

Did You Know – These Five Things About Superman – 06/10/2013

Superman made his comic debut 75 years ago this month – that being June 2013.  This is some of Supermans history as exposed by Larry Tye the author of Superman:  The High-Flying History of Americas’s Most Enduring Hero.

1. He has a Social Security number –In a 1966 issue of Action Comics, editors revealed that Clark Kent’s SSN is 092-09-6616

That number actually belonged to a flesh and blood New Yorker, Giobatta Baiocchi, who had died a year earlier ( no one knows why his number was picked)

2. He does not just fight fictional villains like Lex Luthor and Mr. Mxyzptik. –  In a 1940 story commissioned for LOOK magazine, Superman hauled Hitler and Stalin before a league of Nations war crimes tribunal and battled white hooded Ku Klux Klansmen in a 1946 radio serial. Oddest of all in 1978 he boxed Muhammad Ali  – and lost.

3. He failed his Army physical during World War 11 – You may ask why? He inadvertently read an eye chart in the adjoining room with his X-Ray vision.

4. He’s probably Jewish. – Superman creators Joe Shuster and Jerry Siegel gave plenty of clues from Superman’s Kryptonian name Kal-El (Hebrew for “vessel of God”), to his origin story straight out of Exodus (as with Moses, his parent launched him to safety and adoption by gentiles, Martha and Jonathan Kent).

5. His middle name – Revealed in the comics in 1997 – is Joseph
