Did You Know – 11/09/2017

  1. According to the University of Manchester in the UK, loud music can make you feel happier. Be careful though they say, ‘too loud may risk permanent hearing damage’. I believe this survey to be true as I go into my ‘happy place’ when I put my ear buds in and listen to my music which I have to say is rather loud.

2. Good news for chocolate lovers. A British medical review of research on 114,000 people found that those who ate the most chocolate had a 37 percent decreased risk of developing heart disease and 29 percent decreased risk of suffering a stroke compared to those who ate less or abstained completely. 70% cacao is supposed to be the best for your health.

3. There is a way to outsmart a habit – US scientists say that up to 40% of your daily actions are actually habits formed over the years. It is basically your brains way of conserving effort or discomfort.  However you can outsmart them by trading an old habit for a new one such as replacing a sugar fix with a walk. Replacing a cigarette for a piece of chewing gum or maybe go work in the garden. It helps the brain believe you can change

4. I read this on the packet of Dr Sheffields toothpaste – Dr Sheffield was the inventor of toothpaste in a tube since 1850.

You may know that fluoride can be found in your drinking water; however, you may not know that it is also in many processed beverages and foods containing water. Including juice, beer and even your morning cup of coffee. Currently, over 200 million American’s are dosed daily with fluoride making it the most widely distributed drug in America.

Did you know that the mucous membranes in the mouth allow chemicals to pass directly into the blood stream where they can accumulate into toxic levels.

Most of us in the modern chemical based world are constantly exposed to all sorts of toxic substances in the  air we breathe, in the water we drink (Plug for Kangen water) , and in the food we eat.   We should strive to eliminate any source of contamination that we can, and try to stay as toxin free as possible. We may not be able to control everything, but we can control what we choose to place in our mouth and the mouths of our children.

You can only buy this at a CVS store in America. Sorry everyone else,  but there are other brands that do not have fluoride in their toothpaste

5. The queen broke with protocol and allowed her troops to play the US national anthem for the first time ever during the changing of the guard ceremony as a tribute to the 9/11 victims and the Americans in England who were unable to return home.

My New Water Filtering Machine – A Beauty!

I have invested in this water filtering machine and am loving it. I have always been interested in Optimizing ones health most of the time (sometimes I slip up)  and this machine is everything it professes to do.  It does and does well.  I am totally impressed with the results from it.
When I first read about it, it sounded amazing which often is the first thing that makes me suspicious about the tale I have been sold.
Well it had a money back guarantee so I thought I would give it a go.
The first thing I noticed was that I was sleeping better that in itself was a selling point for me. I do go to bed early, round 9pm but had the habit of waking round 1 o’clock in the morning and not been able to get back to sleep. Occasionally I still wake up at that time but I fall asleep again but mostly I sleep through to 7am if the alarm does not wake me at 5am which is the time get up to prepare  to go to  the gym.
The other thing I have noticed is that my PH level most mornings is above 7.5 which is something I have struggled with for some time. Usually I am on the side of ‘Acidic’. So that is a plus.

I find I drink more water, as the Kangen water seems to be easier to drink than the other jug filtered water that I had been drinking for years. I have always struggled to drink 6 glasses a day. Another interesting thing is that because the water produced is micro clustering, I am able to make green tea without having to boil the water as it easily extracts the tea from the leaves which means I am able to put green tea straight in my drinking bottle which I like to drink while I am at the gym rather than just plain water.

It has a gauge on the machine that it produces what it calls beauty water. Now as you know the cosmetic companies are now packaging water in bottles and selling them as makeup removing water and for lots of other uses good for the skin. Well this machine does that also.
Anyway you can read all about it below.
Just thought I would tell you I am loving it. I am also in the business of distributing them now and also the company which is 43 years old has a business plan that is extremely profitable and unique that is if you are looking to be your own boss.
Anyway have a read. The K8 is the one I have.

Take a Look – Nothing to lose

I am not personally in the habit of promoting any money making deals. The reason being 9 times out of 10 I do not know the person promoting the business so am not prepared to take the risk. I am not against anyone making money but of course I don’t like them doing it at my expense. Done it before and had my fingers burnt.

My Husband and I have been making a study of the business below created by a guy called Vick Strizheus. We have been looking into this for almost a year and have come to the conclusion it is the best deal you are going to see for some time.
Vick Strizheus from High Traffic Academy is doing a LIVE class teaching exactly what’s working right now and how you can immediately model this in your business too.

Vick will show you his step-by-step process for creating up to $10,000+ per month income, even if you have no list or never made a dime before!

Look, you have nothing to lose and more to gain by watching this video and its FREE.

12 Suggestions To Conquer That Habit

We all have an addiction of some sort. Well that’s what I believe as I am sure not one of us was born perfect. It can be eating chocolate, it could be chewing tobacco, smoking, drinking, sniffing, scratching your head, biting your fingernails, anything can be called an addiction.

There are all sorts of advice on how to say goodbye to a “bad habit.” I am not sure what everyone’s definition of a “Bad Habit” is but I am sure it is different for each of us. We are often bombarded by the media about what is a “Bad Habit.” For me a bad habit is something that annoys me, might not make me feel so good, or makes me feel good but not so good later, something that I cannot give up and continue to do. It is a condition, for me that disempowers me, makes me angry with myself that I am not in control.

Here are some suggestions to get rid of some habit that you think is bad for you.

1. Feel good about the fact you recognise the need to change and to want to improve.

2. Challenge yourself don’t limit yourself. You need to tell yourself than you can do it. It may not be this day or next week but you will conquer.

3. Make a commitment to yourself that you will feel healthier and happier about overcoming your habit. You are going to feel fantastic.

4. Don’t make it your main focus as you are likely to set yourself up for failure. Do it in small increments. Take over eating as an example. Reduce your intake of food, just a little at a time. Same for smoking, reduce the number of smokes you have a day. Then one day you will get busy and realize you didn’t have the urge to indulge in your habit that day. Its a start.

5. Observe your attitude: If you are feeling irritable, realise that it could be because of the body craving your habit. Be aware of it and try to alter your attitude. Take a deep breathe before snap an answer or get frustrated about things.

6. Seek support: If you are irritable then maybe an apology is in order,  to whom ever you have offended. Explain what you are going through and ask for their understanding.

7. Affirmations: Wake up and say to yourself today I will smoke less and feel good. I am going to breath easier when I do exercise. I am going to be able to fit into my favorite jeans.

8. Visualize a perfect day: See yourself fit, weighing less, and happy. You are going to be able to go for that run and not find it hard to breathe.

9. Make a decision that you will be successful. If you feel like a smoke or that inviting food in the fridge you will not be tempted. Have a drink of water when the urge comes. Remember you may slip up today but tomorrow you will  have another opportunity to succeed.

10. One step at a time: Take each day as it comes. Some days will be good; other days you will weaken. Don’t worry; know that tomorrow is another day. don’t beat yourself up.

11. Review your day: You may have lapsed a little but you are still on track.

12. Choose your friends: Well, I don’t suggest you dump friends because of your weakness but it may be a good idea to go to places where you are not tempted to break out. Stay away from buffets or fast foods or drinking which will encourage smoking.

My suggestion is the only friends to stay away from are the ones who keep telling you how bad your habit is for you – very aggravating.

All of these are just suggestions from my own experience and may not suit everyone. My goal was to improve my fitness and well-being.

I believe that once you make the decision, you become aware of  why you have this habit and how it makes you feel, take one day at a time. For me smoking was and old friend that was always there in my time of need. It is not easy, but everyone is capable of getting rid of a habit and in my opinion once they succeed they deserves admiration. It shows strength and will power that some people never experience especially those who don’t have “Bad Habits”. (Do they exist?)

Good Luck
