It is to your advantage financially if you happen to get bumped from a flight. If you are flexible with your flying time you should let the airline know. This will only happen if you have carry on luggage.

Some airlines will give you a voucher or cash. It can range from as little as $200 to $400 for domestic or $800 International. You can also request first class which will also give you extra points. If you are not in a hurry to get to your destination it is worth a try and some desperate passenger will love you for it.

I love this piece of information because I love the mornings but if they are correct I should be very skinny.

A recent study from Northwestern Medicine has found out that timing, intensity and duration of your light exposure during the day is linked to weight. In this study, researchers have found out that daily exposure to even moderately bright light in the morning can bring about a significantly lower BMI as compared to those who had light exposure later in the day. The researchers commented that this finding was independent of physical activity, caloric intake, sleep, age or season. Thus if you want to lose weight, you should aim to get more bright light between 8AM and noontime.

This is a very interesting article and worth the readSource

Love it – She Must Have Been Lost For Words

Unknown

Woman:
Do you drink beer?

Man: Yes
Woman:
How many beers a day?

Man:
Usually about 3

Woman:
How much do you pay per beer?

Man: $5.00 which includes a tip

(This is where it gets scary !)

Woman:
And how long have you been drinking?
Man:
About 20 years, I suppose

Woman:
So a beer costs $5 and you have 3 beers a day which puts your spending each month at $450.
In one year, it would be approximately $5400 …correct?

Man:
Correct

Woman:
If in 1 year you spend $5400, not accounting for inflation, the past
20 years puts your spending at $108,000, correct?

Man:
Correct

Woman:
Do you know that if you didn’t drink so much beer, that money could have been put in a step-up
interest savings account and, after accounting for compound interest over the past 20 years, you
could have now bought a Ferrari?

Man:
Do you drink beer?

Woman:
No

Man:
Where’s your Ferrari?

Do you know that monotremes, is an order of animals that both lay eggs and suckle their young. The only two remaining species of this order are the platypus and the echidna, which are native to Australia. Monotremes are also unique among mammals with their ability of electroreception (perceiving electrical impulses with their bodies.)

A frightened dog puts it’s tail between it’s legs because it covers the scent glands in the anal area. Since the anal glands carry personal scents that identify individual dogs, the tail-between the-legs behavior is the canine equivalent of insecure humans hiding their faces.

Spirit of proof strength was the technical standard by which strength was measured until 1st January, 1980. Hundreds of years ago, spirit of this strength was proved when Whiskey and gunpowder were mixed and ignited. If the gunpowder flashed, then there was enough Whiskey in the mixture to permit ignition. Such Whiskey was held to have been proved – i.e. “tested”. If the spirit was weaker than this, then ignition did not take place and the Whiskey failed the “test”. The amount of black powder used was the same amount as was, and indeed still is, used to “proof” the barrels of smooth-bore fire-arms

Here is some information that I read in the Latest Mens Health magazine.

1. Sharpen the memory – When you find yourself struggling to remember, close your eyes. Research from England’s University of yorkreveals that doing this can significantly enhance your recall because it reduces your cognitive load. Your brain then can focus on retrieving the information you need or forgot. (I will need to close my eyes most of the day )

2. Meals at their desk – According to the American Dietetic Association and ConAgra Foods 83% of U.S. workers eat their meals at their desk. That is considered a health risk if it is not cleaned regularly.

3. Increase your metabolism – According to the Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism there will be an 24% increase in your metabolism in 60 minutes after you drink 16 ounces of water

4. Stop Tweeting – The NFL players and coaches must stop tweeting 90 minutes before the game.

5. Super Bowl vs Sex – 7 in 10 women would rather watch the Super Bowl than have sex. (The boys are probably to busy watching the game anyway)

6. Priciest beer – Cost of a beer at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis is $9.

Poem Friday – Whiskey, Wine or Beer

Whiskey, Wine or Beer
Author: Lesley Voth

I hope your christmas day was fun
The stress gone, the shopping all done

It is for me a special time to give and share
To those you love and to those that simple pleasures are rare

We take the time and make the effort to chat and skype
Email everyone, pleasant and happy words we type

In a few days it is New Years Eve
An evening of fun and frivolity I believe

2012, it came up on us so fast didn’t it
2011, bloody good its going, twas a year of shit

Though a good thing has come from 2011, many families glad to receive
Bringing our soldiers from Iraq home, permanently, not a temporary leave

It brings tears to our eyes to see the young children’s delight
Mum or Dad is home for good, they no longer have that war to fight

It does make me sad though when I think of those children in that war
Those babies that were killed, Parents hearts torn to the core
Dear Lord we pray for no more

No more killing, no children lay dying
No more leaving families in pain and crying

So I hope you had a great Christmas and have a fabulous New Year
It is prosperous, healthy, happy and full of good cheer

The New Year 2012 is almost here
So lift your glass whether its filled with Whiskey, Wine Or Beer
