Interesting for Those Who Eat Copious Amounts Of Kale and Spinachđź’¦

This information comes from the Web site of Dr Axe which incidentally is a brilliant website if you need information on many other health subjects. I believe his information to be correct and well researched.

It seems when you can and if you can afford it organic is the way to go. Rather frightening figures on the amount of fungicide and pesticide on the two vegetables that have been recommended to all of us for our good health. There are some that are not quite so contaminated with sprays which is also very interesting.

After reading this article I thought I would share and you may find it interesting enough to go to the site and get some more information on the subject.

This is of course when the Kangen water machine comes in handy as it has an acidic level of water that will wash most of the contamination away. Plus of course it has many other benefits if you like to go to http://lesleyvoth.kangendemo.com you will be able to find out all the benefits of this fantastic water machine. I believe all kitchens should have one. I know that some vegetables are sprayed from very early stages so are internal and cannot be washed away but at least the water machine will get rid of some of it especially tomatoes and some fruits.

Of course if it is’ GMOed ‘ then nothing washes that contamination away so Organic is the way to go

Gut Health – Essential to Good Health

I wrote an article on this subject on June 3rd 2018. Many studies have been made recently only to discover if you don’t have a healthy gut you probably do not have a great immune system and suffer from many different ailments. It affects your brain, hormones, joint pain etc and has a great influence on depression, sleep, being over weight and other chronic problems. There are a number of articles on this subject which we never really considered until now. Those little micro organisms  in your stomach are very important and need to be introduced to our gut on a regular basis. Good sugar free yogurt, fermented food, good water (Kangen water ) are all beneficial to the gut.

If your life is in the fast lane then getting the essentials for your gut is near impossible. I have been introduced to a product that has done years of research on this subject and come up with a great product which I believe to be untouchable by other products. I kid you not. If you are wanting quality of life then you have to look at this and consider giving it a go. It is one of Isagenix products and if you want to find out more about them go to the Isagenix sites below.

Interesting Article On Our Daily Consumption Of Water

I read this article in a online magazine called New Beauty. I have always questioned about the amount of water that we have been told we should be drinking each day.

For me I have to make a concerted effort to drink 8 glasses of water. Its almost impossible and I certainly can not do it day in and day out. I remember reading my old health Guru  and Author ‘Adele Davis‘, she always maintained that drinking too much water actually washes the minerals and vitamins from our body. Maybe she was right. In those days I drank a lot of milk which she did advocate. I was skinny then too.

Anyway you can always make up your own mind on the subject but I thought it made interesting reading.

Is This the Biggest Beauty Lie You’ve Been Believing?

You’ve surely heard this advice – or maybe even doled it out a few times: Drink eight glasses of water a day for beautiful skin and a healthy body.

As it turns out, that’s a longstanding myth from the 1940s that just refuses to die, says Aaron E. Carroll, a pediatrics professor from Indiana University School of Medicine. In a New York Times piece, Carroll sources the origins of this common belief to a 1945 Food and Nutrition Board recommendation that said people needed 2.5 liters of water a day. What everyone ignored, however, was the explanation that “most of this quantity is contained in prepared foods.”

Carroll first debunked the water myth back in a medical paper in 2007, but says that public opinion hasn’t changed at all over the majority of a decade since. “There’s no real scientific proof that, for otherwise healthy people, drinking extra water has any health benefits,” he writes.

While downing eight glasses a day may not be a magic formula, experts agree that it is important to stay hydrated, regardless of the source of hydration.

“Every organ and body system depends on water to function properly. The optimal amount of  intake varies depending on one’s health, activity and geographical location, but can be consumed through drinking water or eating water-rich foods like watermelon and spinach,” says New York dermatologist Marnie Nussbaum, MD. “Research from the Institute of Medicine found that men need approximately 13 cups and women need about nine cups of total fluid intake from water and foods.”

“It’s true that the skin needs water, just like every part of your body, to function properly, but as long as you drink enough fluids to maintain body hydration, you’re fine,” adds Chevy Chase, MD, dermatologist Elizabeth Tanzi, MD. “It’s never been proven scientifically that if you drink more water, you’ll have more beautiful skin.”

A Journey Through Aging For The Young

children, Old, Museum

I was reading this article today and first thought what a good idea. Then I thought again, as it also puts into the minds of the young that this is how you are going to be in your old age. Maybe not for them, maybe they will be fitter and healthier than this older generation. On the other hand I guess this is an exercise in respect for the older generations physical inabilities at this present day and age being 2013.

Anyway to get to the story, at the Israel Children’s Museum near Tel Aviv, they have what they call “Dialogue With Time” and features guides age 70 and older who explain the limitations and joys of aging (so it is not just about limitations).
In one room visitors confront the challenges of performing daily tasks, such as unlocking a door with unsteady hands, going up and down stairs with difficulty. Basically it creates an intergenerational dialog that breaks all stereotypes and clichés on aging, through experience and games. They also have another area where the young person is photographed and then their picture altered by computer to show what they will look like at 80.
I think it is a great educational idea for the young to realize that the old are mentally still energetic and have a lot of knowledge that could be rather helpful to them and have respect for their physical limitations. It is for the ages of 12 and over.
