2. Smart Bandages – Researchers at Tufts University USA have come up with a brilliant innovative tech. Although only in the clinical trial period, if successful it could put an end to infections and amputations in people who have chronic skin wounds.

This bandage which looks like a clear sticking plaster houses both heat and PH detecting sensors together with a dose of thermally activated medicine. Infected wounds and burns generate higher temperatures and Ph levels that healthy skin, so as soon as the sensors notice anything out of the norm they send a drug releasing microbes straight to the area.
It appears there are many Universities looking into this so I guess it is something that we can look forward to in the future.

Sex and Fruit – According to Dr Yen Ying Lim, of the Cognitive aging laboratory at the Florey institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health in Victoria, Australia, having sex on a regular basis and heaps of fruit especially berries and cherries help your memory work at its best. Things that break down the protection of our brain are inactivity, being Obese, high cholesterol and blood pressure.

4. Clench your fist – While we are on the subject of Memory researchers of the Montclair State University in the USA have discovered that making a fist seems to help memory and recall.
Clench your right fist when you want to remember something and clench your left fist later to help recollect the memory.

5. An Orange a Day Keeps macular degeneration away – Researchers from Westmead institute discovered that by eating one orange a day the flavonoids they contain helps to prevent macular degeneration. Try changing from an apple a day to the orange a day and you may have happy eyes

Achieve and Alkaline Body and be Healthy💦

 

To achieve an alkaline body which I may add is essential to good health you must have and alkaline lifestyle.

Green vegetables: kale, chard, beet greens, dandelion, spinach, wheat grass, alfalfa grass.

Non starchy vegetables – mushrooms, tomatoes, avocado, radishes, cucumber,  broccoli, oregano, garlic, ginger, green beans, endive, cabbage, celery, zucchini and asparagus.

Raw Foods – life-giving foods – organic fruit and vegetables

Superfoods – maca root, spirulina, sea veggies, bone broth and green powder mixes that contain chlorophyll.

Healthy fats – coconut oil, MCT oil or virgin olive oil (fats found in wild-caught fish, grass-fed beef, cage-free eggs, nuts, seeds and organic grass-fed butter

Starchy plants – sweet potato, turnips and beets.

Plant proteins – almonds, navy beans, lima beans and most other beans

Most fruits –  Strangely enough, acidic fruits such as grapefruit and tomatoes don’t create acidity in the body. They do just the opposite and contribute to an alkaline environment. Citrus fruits, dates and raisins are all very alkalizing and may help prevent acidosis.

Drink Alkaline water; – Now you know this is my favorite subject and write about it all the time. Now Dr Axe also is writing about the subject of alkaline water that is so necessary to optimal health like the food we eat :-

“According to the Water Research Center’s website, “The normal range for pH in surface water systems is 6.5 to 8.5 and for groundwater systems is 6 to 8.5.”  This means that there is a lot of variation when it comes to pH levels between different sources of water. When water has a pH level less than 6.5, it is considered “acidic, soft, and corrosive,” which means it may potentially leach metal ions such as iron, manganese, copper, lead, and zinc from aquifers, plumbing fixtures, and piping, plus contain certain toxic metals and have a sour taste. The best way to treat the problem of acidic (low pH) water is to use a neutralizer that raises the pH.

Evidence suggests that the ideal pH level of alkaline ionized water for long-term human consumption is between 8.5 and 9.5.  Alkaline water is just what it sounds like: water that is highly acidic, with a pH of between 9.5 to 11. Adding pH drops, lemon or lime, or baking soda to your water also boosts alkalinity. Distilled water is neutral, with a pH of 7.

Water filtered using a reverse osmosis filter is slightly acidic, with a pH level slightly lower than 7. Distilled water and filtered water may not be too alkaline, but as far as pH balance is concerned they are still a better option than tap water or purified bottled water that are more acidic.”

Detox Drink Recipe.

(I drink this every morning before I go to the Gym using our Kangen water of course. I have to say it is a very enjoyable drink, quite palatable. With this weather it’s very warming)

INGREDIENTS:
1 glass of warm or hot water (12-16 oz.) (I use the Kangen water from our machine reason being it is absorbed by the body much faster)
2 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
2 tablespoon lemon juice
½-1 teaspoon ground ginger
¼ teaspoon cinnamon
1 dash cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon raw, local honey (optional)

DIRECTIONS:
Warm the water.
mix all ingredients together.
Best served warm but drink at desired temperature.
