Bobby and Me Love To Be Free
By Lesley Voth
On my Bike Bobby, great scenery to see.
Alone in my thoughts – Just nature, Bobby and me.
So much missed when reading a book
Not a glance, not so much as an interested look
While absorbed in Iphone or Ipad
You miss what Mother nature provided, that’s kinda sad
While riding I imagine the grass under a tree
A cow or calf enjoying the shade happily
I imagine the family that lives on that farm
That house, the shed, tractor, living with no burglar alarm
Then I pass a truck on the road
The driver, driving, many hours, many miles, delivering his load
Does he dream about what could or will be
Does he love the freedom and open spaces like me.
Then I pass the car where passengers are asleep
I wish my horn was louder, I would LOL and give them a beep
Wake them up, is their travel so boring, because their will be no memories to keep
The wind in my face, the clouds above
I imagine the shapes – Angel wings I love
I am very lucky that I can make this dream true
Because my life is getting shorter so I need make every sky blue
Oh dear took that corner a little fast
Felt good though, leaning over, the road going past
I love each day I look down at the grass
Not at the roots-No regrets-no opportunity pass
Oops! swayed over the yellow line.
Concentrate I say – No cars coming, so thats fine
I cannot explain what this does for my soul
Just to breathe deep, and just let my life roll
Hey there are heaps of Angel wings today!
Giving me the answer in their special way
Damn another bug splattered on my arm
Why cant they go eat some corn over on that farm
Railway lines, goes to who knows ,forever
Going over those tracks too fast – ouch, not too clever
On the roadside, flowers, shiny tinsel , around a cross
I can imagine the tears and heartache for someone’s loss
Then bump! I ran over something already squished- putrid aghast
I had better get back to reality and find a fuel station fast
