Poem Friday on Saturday – Love at First Sight

 Love at First Sight

We actually went looking for a cat

Came home with this ball of fluff, how about that

My Mum was in need of a furry mate

Cat or dog that was the debate

Off to the pet shop we all went

Next to the cat cage was this puppy so heaven-sent

The decision was then made

Home she came with us once we paid

Charlie was the name we decided

Probably not the best name provided

As Mum always called her a he

Even though Charlie was a she

Anyway Charlie gave my Mum so much pleasure

So smart, so lovable, a heart stealing treasure

There was not a soul who did not fall in love with that dog I believe

So special to my Mum, a lot of love Charlie did receive

But Alas Charlie is not with us any more

An accident ended Charlies life, Charlie who we love and adore

These things happen and  it causes great pain

But time they say does heal and the hurt does wane

We will miss her that is for sure

A love of a pet is so unconditional, so pure

That ball of fluff so beautiful, was so bright

Loved her to bits, for me,  It was Love at First Sight

Tips For Talking To Your Insurance Company After A Car Accident.

calling-about-accident

After a car accident the biggest fear is that your insurance company will not come to the ‘Party’.
Hopefully that is not the case.

Amy Bach executive director consumer advocacy group United policyholders says some auto claims can get complicated by the fine print.

Ways to avoid this:

a. Do not lie.
b. Stick to the facts: It is natural to want to explain the accident beat by beat. How much should you really say.
c. Answer your questions honestly but be careful about volunteering unsolicited details. If you try to save money by being less than honest, the truth may come out.
d. Your insurer should not deny your claim because of misrepresentations, but it may raise your rates. Trying to give precise details can lead to false recounts. Instead of specifics, provide estimates is a good way to go.

Avoid assuming blame: Even if you think you were clearly to blame, there may be mitigating factors. Remember your interpretation is just that : an interpretation. Most accidents are caused by both parties. Taking the blame may feel righteous, it might not be correct. It could lead to an unwarranted rate hike or lower settlement.
 Let the investigation play out.

Get your fair compensation:

Getting a fair settlement can be a delicate situation.
For injury make sure you visit a reputable doctor. Remember any claims not documented by your doctor will not be considered.
You could be examined by a doctor who has a relationship with your insurer. So even if you have been examined by your own doctor the result my face resistance and the Insurer may want to use the opinion of their own doctor.

Property damage is usually easier:

Most states give you the right to have your car repaired at the facility of your choice. If your insurer becomes difficult about paying for the repairs consider contacting your State Department of Insurance
Make sure you make the effort to work with your insurer try not to be too adversarial. But on the other hand fight for the protection you have paid for.

Home Insurance

Don’t be penny – wise and pound foolish. Make sure you have adequate coverage to rebuild your home in case disaster strikes. Be sure to get replacement coverage on your home and its contents.

Always, Always read your policy before signing on the dotted line. Don’t take your agents word for it. You may think you are fully covered till you read your policy completely only to find, say for example it does not cover you for flood or dripping taps. Has happened.

Travel insurance is another policy to read thoroughly. It can be a very expensive experience if you find you are not fully covered for some specific health problems that may arise while you are on holiday.

One example for me is that I had a Texas licence to ride a motorcycle but I did not have and Australian Motorcycle license. My travel insurance was an Australian policy and when I read the policy I found out I would not be covered for any accident I may have in America if I did not have an Australian motorcycle license.  I had to go and get an Australian Motorcycle license before I left the country.

AT&T Don’t Text While Driving Documentary

Anyone who reads my blog, knows I am passionate about the education of the dangers of Texting and using the cell phone while driving.
I ride a motorbike and I see cell phone use in the car it all the time. I have had to take action to avoid an accident because the vehicle in front does not see me and almost takes me off the road. My signal to them of course was not a polite one.
Importantly your children need to see this video that has been produced by AT&T. It is very sad and graphic. Adults alike need to take heed.
We all need to understand that when anyone is driving and you know it – Don’t text them.

Be a good friend, a good parent, brother or sister « Please tell them « ” Don’t use your cell phone and drive”
