This is something I really do have a problem with. Finding someone who Knows how to measure you properly. It is a tough one. Every retailer that sells Bras should make sure they have an expert on board to do this job. The Cost of a good Bra requires the help of someone who knows what they are doing. That’s my opinion anyway. I don’t know how many bras I have bought and never worn as I hate the fit or the look of them. It is a plus for the second-hand clothing stores as that is where they go. I do not waste space with an ugly uncomfortable bra.
A study conducted by the Swiss lingerie company Triumph, approximately 64 percent of women are wearing the wrong bra size.
Here is some helpful advice on this matter.
- Choose Support Over Comfort
Expert and owner of Linda’s Bra Salons Linda Becker said it’s important to choose support over perceived comfort when shopping for bras. Bra support should come from the band, not the straps. They should fit snuggly across your back, not tight so you have the roll over look.
2. Never Assume Your Size, Even When Measured
Reevaluate your size at least once a year. Remember your body changes every year. Cup and band sizes aren’t the same across all brands. Don’t worry about the size, care about how it feels and fits. The perfect fit is really about trial and error until you find the best that suits you. A good consultant will help you do that.
3. Buy New Bras Every Nine Months — At Least
According to Glamour’s Executive Fashion Editor Suze Yalof Schwartz. We should be replacing our bras every nine months. If you keep them for longer, Schwartz says they’ll lose their elasticity, and therefore their effectiveness.
4. The Hooks Are There For A Reason
Always try on your bra with the least tight band setting. Remember you will use the rest of the hook settings as the bra ages and loses its stretch.
5. Go For The Best Cup Shape For Your Body
New York-based style blogger and YouTuber Jalisa reminded like in clothing there are different Bra cuts and breast shapes. A Demi works great for the small busted girl where a full coverage bra suits the larger busted figures as they do not need the padding. Again it is trial and error and a patient polite consultant.
6. Scrutinize The Fit
To know what to look for in a well-fitting bra is so important. Check that the bra cups lie smooth with no wrinkles, that the center of the bra lies flat against the breast bone, and that the back of the bra is even with the front (instead of hiking up in the middle). Does not do these 3 things then keep looking and trying on.
7. It Pays To Pay More
Higher quality the bra materials, the better the bra will be at supporting us. That is going to mean you are going to have to pay more. Remember a high quality bra is going to be well constructed and fit better than the cheaper ones. Remember they are going to have to support the motion and the weight of those ‘Boobies’. TJ’s and Marshall’s have been suggested for purchasing high quality brands. Be prepared to be spending the day shopping for the perfect bra and you will never regret it. It will make all the difference to the look of your outfit and your shape.
